A 52-year-old man identified as Okonkwo Sunday has been arrested by the Enugu State Police Command for reportedly emptying a can of a suspected toxic liquid substance on about 143 bags of garden eggs worth N729, 000.00 at Akwata sub-market of the Ogbete Main Market.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the 52-year-old man was arrested on April 8 after a complaint was filed at the Central Police Station in the state.
It was also learnt that the real motive (s) of the suspect as well as apprehend and prosecute accomplice to the crime has not been ascertained and investigation is ongoing at the state CID.

Following a report made at Central Police Station, Enugu on 08/04/2020 at about 1400hrs, Operatives of the Command attached to the Station arrested one Okonkwo Sunday, aged 52yrs, for allegedly emptying a can of a suspected toxic liquid substance on about 143 bags of garden eggs worth N729, 000.00 at Akwata sub-market of the Ogbete Main Market, Enugu. Investigation to ascertain the real motive(s) of the suspect as well as apprehend and prosecute accomplice to the crime is ongoing at the State CID.
