President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri, over the death of his mother, Hajiya Fatimah Badami.
Hajiya Fatimah Badami died Wednesday at the Federal Medical Centre, Yola, after a protracted illness, according to a statement from the Adamawa State Government.
Hajiya Fatima Umaru Badami passed on at the age of 68.
Buhari’s condolence was contained in a statement on Wednesday by his spokesman, Garba Shehu.
While commiserating with the family of the governor, the government and people of the State, the president said he received the sad news with shock.
Buhari enjoined Fintiri and all mourners to be consoled by the knowledge that “she lived a godly life devoted to service to her immediate community and the less-privileged in the society.”
He prayed to God to give solace to the mourners and accept the soul of Hajiya Fatima.
The deceased is survived by Governor Fintiri, four grandchildren, siblings and other relations.
