Three Togolese arrested for entering Nigeria illegally

Three nationals of Togo have been arrested by operatives of the Oyo State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) for entering Nigeria illegally.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the suspects identified as Commando Kwasi, Eberivie Isiaq and a mother of one, Kemi Terivie escaped the border patrols from the Republic of Benin and travelled through Saki to Iseyin on Tuesday April 28.

According to report, they were arrested at Odo-Omu in Iseyin community of Oyo state after arriving Nigeria for the new farming season.

This is coming after the federal Government of Nigeria announced a total blockade of the country’s borders following the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that a mild drama played out on Wednesday between workers of the Oyo State Government and officials of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) on the controversial bad rice allotted to the state as palliative.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that Officials of the Oyo state government were on Wednesday barred by men of the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) from returning the spoilt 1800 bags of rice rejected by the state government as COVID-19 palliative.
