The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, on Wednesday confirmed a total number of 195 new coronavirus cases in the country.
Lagos and Kano States have the highest numbers. While Lagos recorded 82 new cases, Kano recorded 30 new cases.
The NCDC while confirming the development on Twitter wrote, “195 new cases of #COVID19;
“82-Lagos, 30-Kano, 19-Zamfara, 18-Sokoto
10-Borno, 9-FCT, 8-Oyo, 5-Kebbi, 5-Gombe
4-Ogun, 3-Katsina, 1-Kaduna and 1-Adamawa State.
“3145 confirmed cases of #COVID19 in Nigeria
“Discharged: 534. Deaths: 103.”
Meanwhile, two hundred and sixty-five Nigerians evacuated from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) arrived Lagos on Tuesday night.
The Emirates Airlines aircraft they boarded landed at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA) Lagos.
Regional Manager, South West, Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) Mrs Victoria Shin – Abah said the aircraft arrived 7.30 pm.
The 265 evacuees are on their way to the isolation centre prepared by the Lagos State Government and National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
After alighting, their were profiled by security, health and border control officials at the Lagos Airport.
