Three prominent persons have died in Yobe State of suspected Coronavirus symptoms within the last 24 hours.
They are: former House of Reps member representing Nguru/Machina/Karasuwa/Yusufari Federal Constituency, Alhaji Baba Bukar Machina, Muazu Buraji, Director of Yobe State Ministry of Health, and Alhaji Bana Kura, a prominent civil servant in Geidam.
Machina died at an isolation facility in Damaturu, the state capital, and was buried on Thursday.
In the other news, the Yobe State COVID-19 Committee on Prevention and Control has engaged traditional rulers in the state as part of a strategy to nip in the bud chances of Coronavirus community transmission.
The State Deputy Governor who is also the Chairman of the Committee, Idi Barde Gubana said the move is to extend measures and sensitization campaign on the dangers of COVID-19 to the grassroots.
He noted that to achieve the desired goal, the monarchs must key into the agenda as they play a vital role in social mobilization particularly on issues that require people at the grassroots level to actively participate.
