Atleast 40 out of 50 doctors and health workers who tested positive for Coronavirus at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital in Kano state have been discharged after recovering from the disease.
The announcement was made by the Chief Medical Director of the hospital, Abdurrahman Sheshe while receiving donations of some hospital consumables and food items from the Orange Drugs Limited.
Sheshe said:
“It is really a thing of joy to share with (you) the review on the test of those workers who were infected by COVID-19 some weeks ago and put on Isolation.
“I am just (being) notified that forty of them tested negative, and no death was recorded and no condition attached with their discharge.”‘
The hospital’s spokesperson, Hauwa Abdullahi added that the ten staff who are still on Isolation are doing well and may be discharged before Eid Fitr.
In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha has revealed that 3,000 primary healthcare workers have been deployed to Kano state to help in the fight against Coronavirus.
