Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has lost his father.
Osimhen took to his Twitter page on Sunday to announce the passing of his father while sharing a write-up that had “R.I.P. Dad”
He said: “R.I.P. Dad. No words to describe this feeling.”
Osimhen currently plays for French Ligue 1 side, Lille.
The 21-year-old has drawn the interest of Tottenham Hotspur, Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United in the past.
His current contract with Lille will expire at the end of the 2023/2024 season.
Meanwhile, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) and French Ligue 1 club Lille have sent condolence messages to Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen over the death of his father.
Reacting to the sad news, NFF wrote on their verified Twitter handle: “Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time. Take heart and stay strong @victorosimhen9.”
While Lille wrote: “Today we learned with great sadness of the passing of @victorosimhen9’s father.
“The entire LOSC family is joined in grief with Victor and his family. He has our full support during this difficult time.”
