Boko Haram insurgents abduct soldier and humanitarian workers in Borno

44 suspected Boko Haram members found dead in prison

Suspected Boko Haram insurgents have reportedly abducted three humanitarian workers and a soldier along Monguno/Maiduguri highway on Tuesday, June 2.

WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the incident occurred at about 11:30am on the said date.

Reacting on the sad development, an official (name withheld) of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) told newsmen that;

“Yes, we heard about the unfortunate incident on Tuesday between Monguno and Maiduguri.

“We learnt that four persons were forcefully taken by Boko Haram including our staff (SEMA), two NGO workers, and a soldier. We are saddened.”

Also speaking on the incident, Hajiya Ya’bawa Kolo who is the chairperson of State Emergency Management Agency confirmed the incident.

Kolo revealed that the incident has been reported to security operatives.

Kolo said;

“Yes, we have reported the matter to the police and others who are currently working on information given to them by the driver of the car, so we have put all hands on deck. I mean action and prayers for his safe return. Join us in prayer please.”
