The Edo State Governorship Election Committee on Tuesday submitted the result of the June 22 All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Primary to the National Working Committee at the party National Secretariat in Abuja.
The Secretary of the committee presented the result on behalf of the Chairman of the 7-man committee, Governor Hope Uzodinma to the National Vice Chairman South South, Hon. Hillard Etagbo Eta who stood in for the acting National Chairman, Sen. Abiola Ajimobi.
He said the primary was hitch free and conducted in compliance with all Covid-19 protocol.
The National Vice Chairman commended the committee for a job well done despite the challenges the committee faced in carrying out their assignment.
He said the report will be forwarded to the Election Appeal Committee.
WITHIN NIGERIA recalls that Osagie Ize-Iyamu on Monday emerged the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the September 19, Edo Governorship Election.
He scored 27,838 votes to beat the state former deputy governor, Dr Pius Odubu and Mr Osaro Obaze, who scored 3,776 and 2,324 votes respectively to emerge second and third in the primaries.
