72 health care workers have tested positive to COVID-19 in Enugu state as disclosed by the Enugu State Ministry of Health.
This was contained in a statement released yesterday, June 26 by the state Commissioner for health, Dr. Ikechukwu Obi.
The health commissioner said the 72 infected health workers were among a total of 202 that have tested positive in Enugu.
Dr. Ikechukwu also confirmed 28 new cases of COVID-19 in the state as announced on Thursday night by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
According to him, the total laboratory confirmed COVID-19 cases in Enugu are 202 with 154 cases on treatment while 43 cases discharged.
The Commissioner also disclosed that the number of confirmed COVID-19 related deaths, in the state stands at 5.
He warned the residents to live according to the NCDC protocol as COVID19 is real.
In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the speaker of the Enugu State House of Assembly, Edward Ubosi has ordered the total shutdown and fumigation of the assembly complex.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Chairman of the House Committee on Information and Communication, Jeff Mbah, on Saturday in Enugu.
