Nollywood actress, Lala Akindoju, has criticised the Actors’ Guild of Nigeria (AGN) over their visit to fellow actress, Regina Daniels, who recently welcomed a son with her husband, Ned Nwoko.
The 33-year-old described the visit as ‘shameful’ and suggested that the AGN dedicate their time to solving more pressing issues such as sexual harassment in the movie industry and the coronavirus pandemic, in a tweet she shared on Monday.
She tweeted, “This is actually shameful. In these times where the actor’s guild should show leadership on pressing issues like navigating the industry with COVID-19, like creating structures to stop sexual harassment in the industry. This is their priority.
“Even if you visit your member, must you film and post? The videos we need to see about future and safety of practitioners. Yet, they abuse us and insist that we join. Sigh!”

Ned was appointed chairman of AGN’s board of patrons by the AGN President, Emeka Rollas, on March 18.
Rollas described him as a man with a lion heart” and “husband to one of our own Princess Regina Daniels Nwoko,” during the Investiture ceremony.
