Gunmen abduct two aides of an Ondo politician

BREAKING: Councillor shot dead as gunmen abduct Ekiti commissioner

Unknown gunmen have reportedly kidnapped two aides of an Ondo politician on Tuesday, July 7 along Ifira- Sosan Akoko Road in Akoko South/East Local Government Area of Ondo state.

This was disclosed by the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Tee-Leo Ikoro.

The PPRO disclosed that four men were initially abducted but the kidnappers released two of them.

He also revealed that the police is investigating the reason the kidnappers released two of the kidnap victims.

Ikoro added that security operatives in the area have been combing the nearby bush to rescue the victims and apprehend the kidnappers.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the Executive Governor of Ondo State, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has vowed that he will not hand over to his Deputy, Agboola Ajayi in acting capacity after he tested positive for Coronavirus.

Ondo State Governor, Akeredolu has reportedly gone into isolation and currently undergoing treatment at home.

While describing the deputy governor, Ajayi as the greatest threat to his administration, Akeredolu stressed that there was no reason for him to hand over to his deputy.
