No fewer than six persons have died in a bomb blast, which rocked Malumfashi town in Katsina on Saturday morning.
Another five are unconscious at the General Hospital Malumfashi.
According to a resident of the affected village “the incident happened at about 9:00 am while “one of the victims was in the farm gathering grasses to feed his animals.”
The State Command of the Nigerian Police Force, through its spokesperson, SP Gambo Isah also confirmed the incident to newsmen.
Though the cause of the blast was still unclear as at press time, however it would be recalled that persistent attacks in the north, have resulted in deaths and displacement of many residents.
Owing to the insurgency, various groups have protested, calling on the president to sack the service chiefs and to take decisive steps to address the security challenges.
While presidency has been silent on sacking the service chiefs, the presidency insists Nigeria has what it takes to secure its citizens and territory.
