A 31-year-old-man, Sunday Akpeji, has been sent to jail for sexually assaulting a 7-year -old girl on the 19th of August, 2019.
Sunday Akpeji sexually assaulted the girl at Igarra, Edo State. He was convicted yesterday.
Sunday was sentenced to nine years imprisonment with hard labour without an option of fine. He would also be registered in the Sex Offender’s register.

In other news, a 47-year-old member of Jehovah’ witness has been sentenced to 6 years in prison by a Russian court in annexed Crimea over religious extremism.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the convict identified as Sergei Filatov was sentenced to prison for being a member of the group outlawed by Russian authorities in 2017 and labelled an extremist organisation.
According to report, the father of four moved from continental Ukraine where the Jehovah’s Witnesses are legal to Dhankoy to take care of his ill daughter, his supporters told Crimean Solidarity, a rights group that has members in Crimea and other parts of Ukraine.
