As Nigeria continues its fight against Coronavirus, 543 new cases of the deadly novel virus have been recorded by the country as revealed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) on Wednesday night.
According to the centre, the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Nigeria is now 38,344.
The NCDC via its official Twitter handle disclosed that 15,815 patients have been discharged with 813 deaths recorded.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the Bayelsa Government has indicated its readiness to pay special allowances to frontline health workers combating the dreaded COVID-19 pandemic in the state.
Doubara Atasi, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Deputy Governor, stated this in a statement on Wednesday.
It would be recalled that Governor Douye Diri had given the assurance to pay the allowances on Tuesday.
