COVID-19 cases nearly hit 40,000 as Nigeria records 438 new cases

As the nation continues its fight against Coronavirus, 438 new cases of the deadly virus, Coronavirus have been recorded by the country as disclosed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

According to the information revealed by the NCDC on its official Twitter handle, the total confirmed cases of the virus in the country is now 39977, remaining 23 cases to hit 40,000 mark of COVID-19 cases.

The NCDC also revealed that 16948 patients have been discharged while 856 persons have died out of the 39977 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Nigeria.

In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the Lagos State Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi has revealed the whooping sum Lagos State Government spends daily on COVID-19 patients in the state.

Akin Abayomi during a media briefing on Thursday disclosed that it spends between N100,000 and N1m daily on each of the COVID-19 patients in the state.
