Hanan, a daughter of President Muhammadu Buhari, is set to tie the knot with Mohammed Turad, a special adviser to Babatunde Fashola, minister of works and housing.
The wedding Fatiha is billed to hold on September 4, at the presidential villa, Aso Rock.
As is customary, the couple will receive blessings from their families in a practice that will involve the reading of the first verse of the Quran in the presence of their immediate relatives.
“Alh. (Dr.) Shehu Idris wishes to inform you of the wedding Fatiha of his children Mohammed Turad Sha’aban and Aisham Hanan Buhari,” the wedding invitation read.
“In the view of the current COVID-19 pandemic and in compliance with the directives of the relevant health authorities of the country, usual gathering in such events will not, therefore, be health(sic).
“We, therefore, use this medium to request you to bear witness of the matrimony as we also solicit for your prayers for the success of the occasion (sic).”
Turad, Hanan’s husband-to-be, is a son to Mahmud Sani Sha’aban, an ex-lawmaker who represented Zaria at the house of representatives from May 2003 to May 2007.
Sha’aban is also an ex-governorship candidate in Kaduna under the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN).
Hanan is a photography graduate from Ravensbourne University in England.
