Two members of Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), also known as Shi’ites, were reportedly killed during a clash with policemen in Kaduna on Sunday afternoon, August 30.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the incident happened following reports of gunshots around Ahmadu Bello Way by Kano road. Policemen were dispersing the protesting outlawed group in the area when bullets hit their members, leaving two killed and several injured.
A leader of IMN while confirming the bloody clash said two of their members hit by the bullets from the Police lost their lives while unquantified others sustain varying degree of injuries.
“As we speak, we are working on our press release. There was a clash and two of our members were killed by Police. Several other members were also injured”, he said.
The Kaduna State Police Command is yet to make any official statement on the development as at the time of filing this report.
