Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate’s Court has docked a 40-year-old man identified as Adebayo Ojo on Wednesday on one count of sexually assaulting an 18-year-old boy.
According to the police prosecutor identified as Inspector Monica Ikebuilo, the defendant committed the offence on September 6, 2020, in Ayegbaju Ekiti in the Oye Local Government Area of the state.
The police prosecutor added that “The defendant exposed his private part and induced the 18-year-old boy to massage them with the intention of deriving sexual pleasure from the act.”
The offence, according to her, contravenes Section 25 (2) and is punishable under Section 25 (3) of the Ekiti State Gender Based Violence (Prohibition) Law, 2019.
Ikebuilo, however, urged the court for adjournment to enable her study the case file and present her witnesses.
In a related story, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Olaleye Ayo, 29, was on Tuesday remanded as a rape suspect at the correctional centre by a court in Ado-Ekiti, the Ekiti State capital.
Police prosecutor Monica Ikebuilo told the court that Ayo lured a mentally-challenged woman into a room in Ado-Ekiti and raped her on June 29.
