Katsina orders reopening of schools

Katsina State Government on Tuesday announced the reopening of all classes of schools from pre-primary, primary, to secondary on October 5.

Commissioner for Education, Dr Lawal Charanci told reporters that the resumption is to conclude their second term academic activities before beginning the third.

“They will resume the second term session with revision and lessons on Monday 5th October to Friday 16th October 2020, while examinations date are between October 19th to 23rd October 2020.’’

“Third term session shall also commence on the 26th of October, to 24th January, 2021. This shall last for fifteen weeks of lessons and examinations.”

School resumption: Parents, guardians lament as fees transport fares, others escalate

Charanci said that Governor Aminu Masari had ordered that both primary and secondary schools to run a shift system on resumption.

Under this arrangement, pupils in primary 1 to 3, would run the morning shift of 7.30 am to 12 noon, while those in primary 4 to 6 are to run 12 noon to 6.30 pm.

Secondary pupils in JS1 to 3 are to run in the morning, while those in senior classes are to run the afternoon shifts.
