In a chat with WITHIN NIGERIA correspondent, music sensation Cliffbado tells us a little about himself, his style of music, inspiration and a lot more.

Who is Cliffbado and how did you come about the name?

My name is Chimezie Clifford Opara aka Cliffbado, how I came about the name… Clifford is my middle name and bado is like the name that is famously used to describe a hustler in Lagos so as a young hustler I attached it with my middle name “CliffBado”

What drew you into the music industry?

For me, music has always been part of me.  I could recall right from my childhood I have always loved music, I danced to them a lot. So as time goes on, I began to pay more attention, to the point that I can’t be in a car without music being played. So one day, I started listening to an instrument and began writing lyrics that’s how music drew me into the industry. Now, music to me is like oxygen, I cant live without it.

Which artistes are you inspired by?

The music scene is full of many amazing talents, too many too mention but I think the artistes that inspire me the most are; 2face, D’banj, wizkid, Davido and Tekno.

Explain your creative process

How I create my songs depends on the mood I’m in at that moment, the melody on the beat and the message I’m try pass along with the song.

What is your music genre?

Afro-Pop and Afro- Fusion.

How long have you been in the industry?

I started making music since 2016 and came out officially in 2018

Do you have any recent Work of your own?

Yes I have tracks like Loose guard which is my first official single and Soweto

Which musician would you love to collaborate with?

When it comes to the music industry, they are a lot of artists here, and I won’t mind working with anybody right now.

What message do you have for your fan?

Just want to say thank you to all my fans all over the world keep supporting me and I promise, won’t disappoint you guys I will keep given y’all Gbedu that y’all won’t forget.

Cliffbado is ready to carve a name for himself in a very talented industry, with his delivery, style of music, and great persona. He is one artiste music lovers need to watch out for.
