Hours after calling for SARS to be ended, singer, Tekno has called on the government to increase police salaries.
The singer had joined other Nigerians in tweeting and protesting SARS brutality online. He kept insisting that the government ends SARS.
Shortly after IGP Adamu Mohammed announced that SARS has been dissolved, Tekno began calling for an increment in police salaries.
He wrote: “Increase police salaries to 250k a month.”
In other news, Atiku Abubakar, former Vice President has called for the proper retraining of officials of disbanded special anti-robbery squad (SARS) before being redeployed to other units of the police.
This is coming barely 24 hours after the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu on Sunday dissolved the police unit following a nationwide outrage.
The former vice president, Atiku in a statement released by his spokesman, Paul Ibe said while the move is worthy of commendation, measures must be put in place to ensure the “bad eggs” among those affected do not pollute other police units they will be deployed to.
