Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has joined the protest calling for the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS.
The All Progressives Congress Governor was spotted on the street of Lagos, on Monday, matching against the brutality of the unit of the police.
WITHIN NIGERIA reports that citizens in and out of the country have been protesting for days against Police brutality and especially the actions of some members of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) which has led to the death of some innocent citizens over the years and in recent time.
Tweeting on his official page on Twitter, Sanwo-Olu stated that the safety of everyone involved in peaceful protests across Lagos is important and he will be communicating with Lagos Commissioner of Police to see to that.

Meanwhile, Governor of Rivers state, Nyesom Wike has banned campaigns calling for the end of the special anti-robbery squad (SARS) of the Nigeria police force.
This is coming days after the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu issued a directive on Sunday, dissolving the police unit but there are still renewed protests across the country over reports of brutality, harassment and extrajudicial killings by SARS operatives.
