A US based Nigerian professor, Dr Tayo Oyedeji has urged the Nigerian youth to keep up with the END SARs protest and make sure something good comes out from it.
According to him, his generation didn’t achieve anything with the 1993 protest which lasted for one month.
He took to popular micro blogging platform, Twitter and wrote:
“My generation didn’t get anything out of the June 12, 1993 protests. You guys must make sure you get the establishment to make meaningful changes with #EndSARS Don’t walk away emptyhanded. Make it count.”
“We protested for about a month and ended up with 6 additional years of military dictatorship (1993 – 1999). This is your time; don’t let them turn SARS to SWAT with no improvement or progress. The system needs to be overhauled, not tweaked.”
