Angry residents of Osun community have reportedly broke into a warehouse and carted away COVID-19 palliatives meant for residents.
This incident happened in Ede, an ancient town situated in Ede North local government area on Friday.
WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the raw food items comprising beans, noodles, sugar, salt, garri, rice, pastas among others, were allegedly meant to be distributed to the masses during the heat of COVID-19 pandemic.
It was learnt that these food items were packed inside large bags with COVID-19 palliative boldly inscribed on them.
According to the report, the residents stormed the warehouse located within the moribund Cocoa Ceramic Industry, Ede and looted the warehouse from Friday morning till afternoon.
A resident identified as Kabir who spoke with WITHIN NIGERIA reporter said it is very disheartening that such amount of food can be kept while majority of the people battle with hunger everyday. I doubt if these polticians have conscience because if they do, they would not keep COVID-19 palliatives.
