The federal government has announced a new website for Nigerians to access the Macro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Survival Fund.
The government had explained that the fund is to cushion the impact of COVID-19 on Nigerians through the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, MSMEs, supportive initiatives.
This, it plans to do by making available N75bn for Nigerian Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises as 100% grants.
Registration for the fund began on September 21st, 2020 but those who wished to apply had been having difficulties registering for the funds.
This prompted the government to announce a fresh website for Nigerians to access the fund, noting that the new portal will open on Sunday, 1st November, 2020.
Mariam Katagum, Minister of State for Industry, Trade, and Investment, gave the update in a statement on Saturday, noting that operational challenges are responsible for the change.
The statement reads:
“The Hon Minister of State, Federal Ministry of Industry Trade and Investment and Chairperson of the Steering Committee of the National MSMEs Survival Fund and the Guaranteed Off-take Stimulus Scheme, Ambassador Mariam Yalwaji Katagum wishes to inform the general public that due to operational challenges the committee will be effecting a change in the website of the fund.
The Survival Fund website will be migrating to www.survivalfund.gov.ng with effect from tomorrow, 1st November 2020.
The public is further warned not to pay anything for the ongoing Business Formalisation (CAC Registration) process or any of the packages under the scheme. The packages are absolutely FREE!
The new website can be accessed here.
Meanwhile, the federal government had issued a warning to Nigerians about an ongoing N3m COVID-19 scam in circulation.
The Presidency warned that the scam targets Nigerians looking to benefit from the Federal Government assistance to businesses affected by COVID-19.
