Hundreds of Muslim faithfuls witnessed internment of the remains of the immediate past Nigeria Ambassador to Jordan, Alhaji Haruna Ungogo, was buried at Naibawa Gabas cemetery located within Kano metropolis at exactly 9:59 am on Monday.
Well wishers and mourners gathered at his Naibawa residence located along Layi Dan Hassan to pay their last respect to the former College Principal as early as 7:00am but had to wait till 9:20am for Janaza prayers that was conducted by the local Imam, Malam Hamisu.
The late diplomat died after a brief illness at a government hospital, in Abuja, on Sunday.
He was appointed ambassador to the Kingdom of Jordan and the Republic of Iran, by President Muhammadu Buhari, in 2016 and served out his tenure at the time of his death.
Ungogo also served as Secretary to the Kano State government, as well as a one-time Finance Commissioner, and ex- Rector, Kano State Polytechnic.
