Barely 24 hours after the inauguration of Edo Governor, Godwin Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu, spiritual concern has been sent out to the governor amid his celebration for second term in office.
Obaseki has been urged by a popular Nigerian cleric, His Grace, Prophet Ekong Ituen, to seek the face of God through prayers for divine intervention over impending political setback that will be determined by court, which may lead to his exit from office.
Ituen, a charismatic preacher who speaks the mind of God without minding whose ox is gored and whose prophecies have shaken the high and mighty in the country stated this with newsmen in Lagos; He advised Nigerian political leaders not to see prophecies as criticism and hatred but as a warning and a guide to the future which can be averted if the right steps are taken because even in the Bible, God used prophets to warn leaders of impending crises and defeats.
Speaking from a spiritual perspective, Prophet Ituen urged Governor Obaseki not to celebrate yet or be carried away by the sentiment of praise singers but rather concentrate on prayers and seek the face of God over an impending political setback awaiting him.
Meanwhile, Obaseki has described himself as a “redefinition of democracy” on Thursday at the swearing-in ceremony for his second term in office, held at the Samuel Ogbemudia in Benin City, the Edo capital.
