The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde has stated that Amotekun Corps will be answerable to him and he will be responsible for their actions.
This statement was made by the Governor via his social media handle after the passing-out ceremony of the Amotekun Corps which was held in Oyo Town.
Pictures of the event which was a colorful one have surfaced on internet and the event was attended by the Executive Governor of Oyo state, Engr. Seyi Makinde and other top officials of the state government and the parade comprising of Amotekun officials was inspected by the Executive Governor.
Oyo state governor, Makinde said it has been a long journey to get to this point from July 2019 when the first meeting was held by all six southwest governors to set up a regional security outfit.
Makinde further stated that the Amotekun Corps will collaborate with federal security agencies to secure our state.
Members of the corps will be drafted to all the 351 wards in Oyo state. As I have stated before they will be answerable to me and so, I will be responsible for their actions, he added.
