Rahama Sadau, Nigerian actress has been slammed on her birthday by a Muslim man who claims it is not permitted in Islam to celebrate birthdays.
The thespian had taken to her official Twitter handle to celebrate her 27th birthday on December 7, 2020 and she received heavy backlash for it.
Rahama shared a photo of herself in a turtle neck and head tie and wrote a few words appreciating God for blessing her.
”Ya Allah, Thank you for blessing me with a year full of breakthroughs. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME !! #7thDec #27,” she tweeted.
Well, hours after the Hausa-born actress made the post, a Nigerian Twitter user identified as Auwal Yahaya replied her by noting that birthdays are not days for one to be happy, adding that it is a day for to ask for forgiveness from God.
He also said that according to Islamic doctrines, birthdays are not allowed.
”This day is not a day that you be happy, Is a day that you ask forgiveness from Allah Birthday is not allowed in Islam,’‘ he said.
