Bare few hours before her Verzuz battle against Keyshia Cole, Multiple award-winning American singer, Ashanti has revealed that she tested positive for COVID-19.

The Verzuz battle is an American webcast series created by producers Timbaland and Swizz Beatz.

The series invites two music icons, predominantly R&B and hip-hop, to highlight their discographies in two 10-song rounds during a three-hour session.

Ashanti and Keyshia Cole were set to face-off on Saturday night.

Despite testing positive to COVID-19, Ashanti said she felt well and indicated that she will try to make her side of the event happen from home, billboard.com reports.

“Hey y’all I can’t believe I’m saying this but I tested positive for COVID-19. I’m okay and not in any pain. I’m actually down to do the Verzuz from my house… we’re trying to figure it all out!!!” Ashanti wrote in a note on Instagram shortly after 6 p.m. ET.

The battle was scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on the Verzuz Instagram page and Apple Music. However, due to the development, the programme had to be postponed.
