Owa of Igbajo, a town in Osun State, Oba Olufemi Fashade, has passed on.
The octogenarian royal father passed on, reportedly after failing to recover from an illness on Thursday.
Oba Fashade, a retired soldier, was installed Owa of Igbajo in 1990.
“But formal announcement of his passage won’t be done until all necessary rites are completed,” a source in the town, who preferred anonymity said.
Before he ascended the throne of his forefathers, he was a general contractor but before that line of work, he was in the military. He was also an engineer in some companies before joining the military. One of the companies he worked with was Ove Harup and Partners, which was a consulting engineering company owned by the British.
He attended Kiriji Memorial College in Igbajo and passed out there in 1959.
The late Monarch schooled in the United Kingdom where he studied Civil Engineering and Structures. Before he traveled to the UK, he had worked in Nigeria in UAC, Niger House and another technical company in Ido, Lagos.
