Donald Trump, the president of United States has publicly acknowledged that he would leave office on January 20 pledging an orderly transfer of power for the first time after Congress affirmed President-elect Joe Biden’s Electoral College win.
According to Trump, there will be an orderly transition on January 20th eventhough I totally disagree with the outcome of the election and the facts bear me out.
“I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted. While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again.”
Trump did not say in his statement whether he plans to attend the inauguration of Biden and Vice President-elect Kamala Harris on January 20.
This is coming barely two months after Trump refused to concede the election and almost a day after inciting his supporters to storm the US Capitol in an attempt to stop lawmakers from counting the electoral votes.
The mob broke into the Capitol, stormed both the House and Senate floor and Trump supporters could be seen lounging in House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office
The riot left four people dead as one woman was shot and three others had medical emergencies.
