FUTA deputy registrar, others shot on Osogbo expressway

Dr Amos Arijesuyo, a deputy registrar in the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Ondo State, has been reportedly shot by gunmen in the Iwaraja end of the Ilesa- Akure Expressway in Osun State.

Arijesuyo, who worked at the Guidance and Counselling section of the Students Affairs Department of the university was said to have been attacked on Saturday by the gunmen alongside his driver and one unidentified person.

It was gathered that the victim was also a senior Pastor at the Christ Apostolic Church, Glory of God, FUTA.

A pastor of the church, Pastor Olu Aladesanmi, who confirmed the incident, said it happened between 5pm and 6pm on Saturday.

He said, “The pastor and his driver are fortunate to have survived the attack with bullet injuries. They are receiving treatment at hospital.”

When contacted, the Head of Media and Protocols of FUTA, Mr Adegbenro Adebanjo, said he could not confirm the incident.

“I cannot confirm it because I have yet to get the details, but I will get back to you as soon as I’m fully briefed,” Adebanjo said.
