President Muhammadu Buhari has received the Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong, at the State House in Abuja on Friday.
This was disclosed by his Personal Assistant on Broadcast Media, Buhari Sallau who shared photos from the meeting.
“President @MBuhari receives in audience Plateau State Governor H.E. Simon Lalong in State House on 29th Jan 2021,” Sallau wrote on Twitter without other details about the meeting.
Recall that Lalong who is the Chairman of the Northern Governors’ Forum revealed that the 19 Northern States Governors have agreed to take the first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine when they arrive in the country.
He said this while discussing the safety and efficacy of the vaccines at a webinar organised by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Health Osagie Ehanire has disclosed Nigeria has secured an additional 41 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine.
Nigeria had secured 100,000 doses of COVID-19 vaccine through the COVAX facility, which is co-led by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and GAVI Alliance.
Although the previously scheduled period for delivery of the 100,000 doses was January 2021, the Minister said the date has now been moved to February because of the “challenges of getting the supplies”.
