Three Chinese expatriates abducted by unknown mining labourers in Osun State have regained their freedom.
The Chinese immigrant were abducted last week Monday at Akere Village in Ifewara after a disagreement with their labourers at the mining site.
A police escort attached to the Chinese immigrants were also killed.
WITHIN NIGERIA learnt that the abductors contacted families of the victims and demanded the sum of N500 million.
The Osun State Police Spokesperson, SP Yemisi Opalola, confirmed the release of the three expatriates.
According to her, “We have rescued the three Chinese expatriates abducted in Ifewara.”
In the other news, a 32-year-old land speculator, Abiodun Ibrahim has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magistrates’ Court over land fraud.
The accused person was arraigned on a four-count charge bordering on felony, false pretense and breach of peace.
The accused person allegedly committed the offence in December 2019 at Ayegbemi, Ota Efun area in Osogbo.
The offense committed contravenes and is punishable under Sections 249, 390, 382, 419, 516 Criminal Code CAP 34 vol 11 Law of Osun state 2002.
Defense counsel T. S Adegboyega prayed the court to grant his client bail in the most liberal terms.
In his ruling, Isola Omisade granted the accused person bail in the sum of N600,000 with two sureties in like sum.
The case was adjourned March 5, 2021 for ruling.
