As the fight against COVID-19 becomes tougher, Nigeria has recorded 520 new cases of the deadly virus in 18 states and the federal capital territory, Abuja.
This was announced by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in its daily update on Sunday, February 14.
According to the state breakdown of the new cases, Ondo-120, Borno-41, Ebonyi-37, Benue-33, Plateau-30, FCT-29, Nasarawa-25, Ogun-25, Edo-24, Osun-24, Katsina-22, Kaduna-21, Niger-20, Kwara-14, Ekiti-13, Yobe-10, Oyo-4, Bayelsa-1, Jigawa-1.
There are now 146,184 confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the country and 1,752 deaths have been recorded. 120,838 patients who recovered from the disease have also been discharged.
In other news, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that the Director-General, Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC), Dr Chikwe Ihekweazu, has warned that the Coronavirus pandemic is spreading fast, causing mild symptoms in some victims and severe illnesses and death in others.
Ihekweazu disclosed this on Monday in Abuja at the joint national briefing of the Presidential Task Force (PTF) on COVID-19.
He said that many victims have continued to experience fatigue and other symptoms even after recovery.
