A known hoodlum and political thug by the name of Yemi Aleeba is scheduled to be charged with sexually harassing a female student (name withheld) at the Federal Polytechnic, Ede, causing tension and concern in the city of Ede, the hometown of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
Recall that on Monday, June 19, WITHIN NIGERIA had previously reported that students at the polytechnic had sought justice in response to a female student’s allegations that she had been raped by the renowned hoodlum and former member of the Oodua Peoples Congress (OPC), Yemi Aleeba.
GENESIS OF THE MATTER
According to a credible source who spoke to WITHIN NIGERIA, the accused victim was raped at the famed hoodlum’s private office. The hoodlum is the leader of cyclists in 10 LGAs across the state, including Ede North and Ede South.
Our source claims that the notorious criminal who had expressed interest in the student had promised to repair her broken phone but instead led her to his office rather than a repair shop for phones.
“The woman claimed to have been sexually assaulted on a bed in his private office, which the police reportedly seized. After sexually assaulting her, he then gave her N5,000 as transportation ticket, which she reportedly submitted at the police station after registering a complaint, according to our source.
According to findings by WITHIN NIGERIA, one of the victim’s friends told a lecturer at the school about the incident, and the lecturer then reported it to the sub-dean of the students affairs directorate at the school, who informed the divisional police officer (DPO) of the Pere police station.
According to other information, the infamous hoodlum arrived at the police headquarters before to the Sub-dean since one of the officers had invited him. The rape victim, however, stuck to her story and insisted that the perpetrator had charmed her and threatened her before telling the authorities about the occurrence.
According to a report from FPE-PRESS, the school’s media club, there was a minor argument regarding the hospital to be selected where essential medical tests can be performed to determine if the student was raped or not between the police and a lecturer (name withheld). While the instructor proposed a medical center on campus, the police recommended Cottage Hospital.
The case was later transferred to the State CID as a result of the Students’ Union President and other allies’, including stakeholders’, participation.
The lecturer (name withheld) further disclosed that the bed was transferred to Pere Police Station after it was discovered that there was no charm in the room when police arrived at the rape scene.
It was also learned that the offender refuted the charge and claimed to be an impotent. The offender was eventually apprehended, though, and it was agreed by all parties that the medical report needed to support the case would be conducted on CID premises.
REACTIONS
Sola Lawal, the school’s protocol, media, and public relations officer, issued a statement on behalf of the administration in response to the incident, characterizing it as illegal and savage.
While the security personnel continue their inquiry, the PPRO pleaded with the school’s students to maintain their composure and follow the law.
The statement said, in part: “We wish to emphasize that this act of lawlessness is not only brutal, but also a bestial act that must be condemned in its entirety with accompanying prosecution of the criminal.
As the security personnel continue their inquiry, the institution’s rector, Dr. Yahaya Sani, advised students to maintain their composure and follow the law.
In order to prevent a repeat of the incident, he also gave the students advice to be cautious about their movements and the company they keep outside of school.
As a father, the students’ welfare continues to be of utmost importance to his administration, and the rector reiterated that he will do everything in his power to ensure their comfort.
However, the administration reaffirmed that the institution would cooperate with security personnel to bring the perpetrator of the heinous act to justice.
The institution’s president of the students’ union acknowledged the rape occurrence and called it unfortunate and horrible in a phone discussion with WITHIN NIGERIA under the alias Comrade Idris, also known as Drizzy.
The police have been notified, and the SUG President claims that charges will be filed against the offender as soon as feasible.
Insisting that justice would be done, he expressed faith in the Nigerian Police and courts.
THE FIGHT TO SAVE NOTORIOUS HOODLUM ‘YEMI ALEEBA’ FROM ARRAIGNMENT
As the police initiate an inquiry to sort out the situation and prepare to present the offender before an Ede magistrate court for prosecution, politicians and other prominent people have persisted in applying pressure to the victim and her family to drop the case.
Several politicians, including relatives, are reportedly circling to try to convince the family of the female student to force their ward to drop the issue, a dependable source told WITHIN NIGERIA.
Yemi Aleeba’s mother can be heard pleading with the rape victim to forgive her child and go on in an audio clip that WITHIN NIGERIA acquired. The woman could be heard in the recording introducing herself as the mother of the offender and adding that the victim’s mother should not bring up the situation because she is old enough to be the victim’s mother.
While pleading with the lady, the woman revealed that the offender, Yemi Aleeba, was the sole kid that God had given her. In addition, she stated that she was unable to render a judgment but that whatever transpires between them must be settled.
Tolulope, another person claiming to be a former Accountancy Department student, made a request to speak with the female student, saying he had a legitimate cause to do so.
Tolulope, who claimed to be speaking for the offender, stated that their only motivation for wanting to meet her is to beg her. He counseled the victim to dismiss the case and pardon the offender.
Tolulope, who asserted that the perpetrator was guilty, begged the victim for assistance by dropping the case and withdrawing it.
He continued by urging the woman to change her mind and forcing her to profit handsomely from the situation.
It had already been done. That is the same advise I would offer to my younger sister if the same thing happened to her. For compensation, we can speak with him. Even your friend doesn’t need to know about the settlement, so please don’t. The male voice continued, “Please let us see face to face.”
Another tape that was obtained by WITHIN NIGERIA revealed a male voice (whose identity has not yet been established) pleading with the rape victim to drop the lawsuit and use it as a way to get money.
But according to sources who spoke to WITHIN NIGERIA, thugs are stealthily moving around the campus, issuing threats to students and personnel who are interested in this topic.
