UNI-ILESA: Adeleke approves the permanent appointment of 230 temporary staff after WITHIN NIGERIA report

The Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, approved the permanent appointment of 230 temporary staff of the University of Ilesa on Wednesday.

The move by Governor Adeleke followed a report titled UNI-ILESA: “POS operator, part-time teacher, security guard”: lecturers who earn N23,896.26K adopt casual jobs to survive a harsh economy.

WITHIN NIGERIA had earlier released a publication titled UNI-ILESA: Inside Osun Public University, where students pay more than N300k as school fees, lecturers earn N23,896.

The development was made known on Wednesday, June 19, by Prof. Taiwo Ashaolu, the Vice Chancellor, during a management meeting with staff of the state-owned institution.

The varsity head, Ashaolu, while rolling out the achievements of the institution at the event to mark the one-year anniversary of the establishment of the varsity, also stated that the waiting days for temporary staff are over.
