OSBC replaces Adekilekun as state house correspondent after WITHIN NIGERIA report

The Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) has replaced Tijani Adekilekun, who has appointed as senior special assistant on media to Governor Ademola Adeleke, as its State House Correspondent.

A source who prefers anonymity told WITHIN NIGERIA that Tobiloba Odunuga was secretly appointed as State House Correspondent barely two months after Tijani Adekilekun was appointed as an aide by Governor Adeleke.

The move by OSBC followed a report by WITHIN NIGERIA titled “Rumblings in Adeleke’s cabinet as an appointee allegedly refuses to resign from civil service,”  drawing attention to the situation.

According to the source, Tobiloba Odunuga resumed as State House Correspondent shortly after the Eid-al-Adha (Ileya) festival.

The source claimed that Tijani Adekilekun, a senior special assistant on media to Governor Adeleke, refused to step aside for the new staff, Tobiloba Odunuga, to be in charge despite his replacement.

The source further claimed that Tijani Adekilekun still files reports for Osun State Broadcasting Corporation (OSBC) as a correspondent, denying the new staff the right the right to act in full capacity as a replacement.

While expressing his concern about the development, the source stated that he does not know why Adekilekun accepted the new appointment as senior special assistant if he is so much in love with his job as a state house correspondent.

“Adekilekun is a kinsman of Mr. Governor. He is a native of Ede, the hometown of the Adelekes. He probably has the backing of some top officials who are natives of Ede in this administration. I really don’t know why he is doing as he likes. He believes he cannot be sanctioned or punished. Well, he is wrong because this is a government of Osun people, not Ede  people,” the source added.
