How pregnant woman disguising as room-seeker abducts two kids in Osun

Two children, Sarah Adedeji, age two, and Sikemi, age four, were reported missing, causing tension and commotion in Igando, a community in Ilesa.

The incident described as unfortunate by many, which occurred on Saturday, September 7, 2024, has caused public wrath, anxiety, and sorrow for the parents of missing children.

WITHIN NIGERIA gathered that the two kids were lured and taken away by a pregnant woman.

Additional findings revealed that the pregnant woman, who disguised herself as someone looking for an apartment to rent, entered into a building that housed many tenants and requested help in getting a house to rent.

An eyewitness told WITHIN NIGERIA that the pregnant woman who was seen playing with children in the house lured them with biscuits, puff-puff, and soft drinks for them to develop likeness in her.

According to an eyewitness, the pregnant woman later went away with two children, namely Sikemi and Sarah.

‘She excused herself with the children from the house, claiming she wants to buy some items for the kids on another street. She carried one on her chest and held the other in her hands, the eyewitness disclosed.

A security source told WITHIN NIGERIA that criminals now disguise as people looking for apartments to rent in order to gain access to compounds and take away their children or cause harm.

According to a security source, they would appear in houses as vulnerable persons deserving pity, lure kids by playing and buying gifts, and take them away the moment their parents trusted kids with them.

‘I have heard similar cases in Akoko and other communities in Ondo. They have extended their plans to Osun, and we will not allow them to mess things up for us, the security source added.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in Division ‘B’ Ijamo, Giwa Emmanuel confirmed the incident.

He further disclosed that investigation is ongoing and any new developments will be communicated.

‘Efforts to locate the kids are in top gear’, he added.
