New iGaming Companies That Are Entering The African Online Gambling Market

Many leading casino operators and software providers are turning their attention to markets of the African continent. As a lucrative region, more and more companies are tending to spread their reach to this part of the world. Traditionally, Africa has always been thought of as a set of developing nations, mainly focused on resource extraction and agriculture.

However, these days, this stereotype is far from true, and rightly so. The economic potential of countries such as South Africa, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, or Ghana, is getting bigger every day. Thanks to the massive digitalization in these countries, most of their residents have full access to the internet. As the enthusiasm for online sports betting and gambling is strong amongst the African population, the iGaming market has bloomed.

It has become one of the fastest growing online gambling markets worldwide, with the rising number of iGaming companies who are trying to leave their mark and reach a new audience of African players. In this article, you will learn which industry’s leaders are taking over the continent by the storm, but before that, we have to explore the major reasons for the increasing popularity of the African gambling market.

Why Africa Is Among The Most Promising Regions For iGaming Companies?

Africa is the second biggest continent in the world, counting over 50 nations and approximately 1.3 billion people. Meaning it presents a huge potential market for online gambling and sports betting.

Even more so after the massive digitalization conducted in recent years. While traditionally Africa was assumed as technologically limited, that can be farther from the truth today.

    During 2018
… six new 4G networks were launched creating a total of over 120 mobile internet networks across the African continent. The new infrastructure, combined with increasingly lower prices of smartphones, helped drive the transition to widespread mobile broadband access. In Q1 of 2020, the statistics showed that the population of Africa represented 11.5% of all internet users in the world.

In fact, one of the biggest factors influencing the development of iGaming in Africa is exactly the rapid expansion of mobile internet connectivity.  One leads to another and this is precisely the major reason why this continent has become one of the most prospective gambling markets.

    The other major factor
… is that Africa is the youngest continent on the globe. About 1/6 part of the overall population consists of people in the 15-24 age range. And the greatest popularity iGaming and online sports betting are having among the youth. With this data in mind, it’s not surprising why this continent is one of the fastest-growing iGaming markets in the world.

    Speaking of sports betting
… it seems like this activity is specially in-vogue with young Africans betting on European football leagues in increased frequency. So much so, that the African sports betting industry was estimated to be worth $37 billion in 2018.

Key online gambling markets in Africa are:

    • South Africa
    • Nigeria
    • Kenya

    Followed by:

    • Ghana
    • Uganda
    • Tanzania

    Market’s Challenges

Of course, t, but that shouldn’t be too While online gambling in Africa is flourishing, things don’t look as bright for the land-based casino industry. Traditional brick-and-mortar venues are still quite rare across the vast majority of the continent.

That’s not surprising considering that the construction of a physical casino requires significant investment compared to setting up an online operation. Also, the youth population that is prevailing is more dominant in the online sector.

Online gambling in Africa still has a few challenges overcome to reach its full glory. In many areas, laws regarding these activities are either vague, outdated, or just unenforced.

    On the other hand…
… a great deal of Africans is supporting iGaming development in the region, with just a few places being traditionally against all forms of gambling. These are promising news for investors, entrepreneurs, and stakeholders of online casino operations, as well as software providers. And one of the reasons why so many new iGaming companies are appearing on the markets.

iGaming Companies That Are Taking The Africa By Strom

In the past years, Africa has welcomed many new iGaming companies and saw many lucrative partnerships with the existing parties on the market. For software providers, collaborating with leading operators and other providers is a way either to breach new markets or to straighten their footprint. New alliances are forming left and right, while one of the most significant ones is the entrance of TVBET to the African market via collaboration deal with local LionsBet.

Nigeria saw gaming content providers like Gameloft, Intralot and Sirplay partnering up with local gaming companies. For instance, NaijaBillionaire has partnered with international platform providers like Lightmaker lotto and Indus Net Technologies. Digitain renewed its collaboration with Westernbet, while an online sports betting license was granted to reputable 1xBet, which can offer its services to punters in Nigeria until the end of 2024.

Due to disputes and changes in legislation and iGaming taxes, iGaming brands have shown a decreased interest in the Kenyan market. Despite this, the country greeted MelBets and BetSafe in 2020. Luckily, the controversial tax that draw away Sport Pesa was overturned, so the Kenyan biggest operator resumed its operations. 2021 began with BtoBET & STM Gaming partnering up with Wazibet, so Kenya continues to be one of the African leading online gambling markets.

In a form of partnerships and new brands, South Africa
… certainly, was one of the most attractive places for the industry leaders. Award-winning provider of live casino products, Evolution Gaming, entered the market in February 2020 after receiving the gambling license from the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board (WCGRB).

DraftKings partnered up with Peermont group for new PalaceBet sportsbook in South Africa, and Ezugy also got its opportunity to reach African players thanks to joint project with Evolution South Africa. Pragmatic Play continued its expansion to new markets by inking a B2B partnership with licensed online betting platform provider CDP Gaming Technologies for its South African brand, YesPlay.

While the sports betting industry has suffered a big blow due to the global pandemic…
… online casino sector was thriving across the globe. Like all other, African iGaming markets were initially shaken but rapidly recovered. This continent is continuing to be one of the fastest-growing attractions for both local and global iGaming companies.

  • 10 Ideas To Make Your Monthly Budgeting Smoother

10 Ideas To Make Your Monthly Budgeting Smoother

Let’s face it: Budgeting is no child’s play. Making a plan and sticking to it isn’t as easy as it sounds. You’ll have to make a ton of estimates and track them religiously.

There’s a chance that you didn’t account for contingencies and had to dip into funds reserved for another head. A poorly thought-out plan, or sloppy execution, can very well leave you broke by the end of the month.

If you’re wondering how to budget, and especially how to budget smartly, we have a few ideas you might want to check out. Having trouble executing a plan properly? You can choose from an array of technologically integrated solutions for personal finance.

Stuck finding the right budgeting strategy for yourself? You can give some tried-and-tested budgeting templates a chance, and decide what works for you.

    The Classic Worksheet

The first step to a good budget is self-awareness. You have to get an accurate idea of what you earn, and from where against a prudent estimate of what you spend, and where you’re likely to slip.

A worksheet is an itemized list of all the sources of income and areas of expenditures you have. It can be stylized to suit your needs of a weekly, monthly or annual budget. Two of the basic worksheets are Income and Expenditure Worksheets.

In the former, you list all your income sources (including rent, salary, dividend, interest) and total the amount at the end. According to their necessity, the latter would rank payments with utilities and loan repayments being listed above other heads. If you’re having trouble calculating loan instalments, you can work this out using an online calculator

Creating a worksheet is no mean feat. You can opt for the pen and paper mode, or switch to digital spreadsheets using either Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets.

    Use Mobile Applications

If you’re holding multiple cards, you might find it frustrating to track all your expenses efficiently. There’s a high chance that you’re going to miss some expenses, and that could impact your plan.

Technology never ceases to amaze. There are budgeting apps galore now, where you can simply link your card details, and let it do the rest.

Set limits, and you’ll get alerts as to when you’ve gone overboard. There are specialized apps for couples who share bank accounts, or for people who are looking forward to investing as a part of their budget.

    Save Automatically

Saving is an integral part of your budget plan. It cannot be stressed enough what a good savings plan can do for you in times of need.

But despite knowing the fact that someday savings can save your life, many people forgo the act. Maybe it’s the sudden rush of the paycheck coming in, or something else, but many go overboard and forget to save.

Thanks to technology again, you can automate your savings. There are applications like Acorns and Qapital that have this unique feature of round-up savings. All the change left from your transactions automatically moves into the piggy bank.

    Budgeting With Loans

There are some cases in which you can underestimate a contingency and exhaust all your funds but still need more. In those dire situations, one can opt for short-term, easily repayable loans.

Payday loans are a great option if you’re looking for a quick fix. These are high-cost short-term loans, which have to be repaid by the next payday. 7 to 60 days is the usual repayment period, which can be altered as per requirements. You can find payday loans online easily.

You can also opt for a loan against your credit card limit. This too is a high-cost borrowing option, and strictly contingent on your repayment history. Such loans can be converted into EMIs as well, and the amount is blocked from the limit.

    50/30/20 Rule

Erstwhile Harvard professor, Elizabeth Warren proposed the 50/30/20 rule of budgeting. It aims to divide your after-tax income into three components: 50% for needs, 30% for wants, and the last 20% for financial goals.

Needs include all utilities and recurring expenses like rent. Wants generally constitute specific expenses such as dining out, particular shopping needs and other things that might change every month. Financial goals target two areas – savings and debt. A part of the 20% is reserved for servicing your debt if you have any.

    Zero-Based Budgeting

Zero-based budgeting is another strategy that has a unique goal. It prods you to spend your monthly paycheck such that at the end of the month, you have exhausted all of it.

Careful now, it doesn’t mean you go crazy with a shopping cart. The philosophy behind the strategy is exactly the opposite. By forcing you to justify every penny you earn, zero-based budgeting inculcates the habit of valuing your money.

    Debt-Snowball Method

If you find yourself caught in the quicksand of debt-traps much too often, this is a highly recommended method for you. The debt-snowball method is designed to rid you of any debt payments that you have with a payment plan.

There are monthly payments, from lowest to highest debt regardless of the interest rate. Other than just helping you get back on your feet, this programme is designed to instil a habit of healthy debt repayment.

    Have Small, Reachable Goals

Aiming to be a millionaire is never the first budgeting target that you’ll want to set. As you may have already known, budgets are contingent on a host of factors, and the list is mostly dominated by those you cannot control.

Even if your ultimate goal is reaching a particular amount in savings, divide that journey into shorter realistic milestones. That way, even if you falter once or twice, you won’t be disheartened.

    Take Advantage of Benefits

Nowadays, almost every online transaction or card payment carries a benefit with itself. These could be vouchers, redeemable reward points or a straight-forward cash-back. A smart spender will always be aware of the awards and benefits which they can exploit, and save a little bit extra with respect to their budget.

Reward Yourself Once In A While

All work no play sucks all the colour out of life. Like exercise and dieting, budgeting is also most effective when done in moderation.

Depriving yourself of purchase would only add to your resentment and frustrate you even if you have the means. To prevent budgeting from becoming a toxic, miserly habit, be open to a little leeway.

    In Conclusion

Budgeting can be daunting, but there’s no need to worry. It’s an art to remain within a stipulated budget, and art can be mastered with practice and discipline. Modern budgeting is integrated with smart technology which makes it all the more rewarding and efficient.

  • How You Can Be a Great Nurse

How You Can Be a Great Nurse

When you become a nurse, you’re not necessarily automatically going to be the very best you could ever be. You’ll have a good deal of knowledge, you’ll have qualifications, and you’ll know that this is a career that you want to do well in, but what you won’t have is the experience, skill, and understanding that will make you a great nurse.

Don’t be disheartened about this; it’s the same for everyone. Just because you’re not the most amazing nurse right from the start (although, of course, that’s not to say that you’re not an excellent nurse), that doesn’t mean that you can’t or won’t become one over time. If you’re looking at ways that you can turn yourself from a good nurse to a great one, read on for some useful tips.

    Even More Knowledge

When you want to become a nurse, you need to go to nursing school in order to obtain specialist qualifications that will not only allow you to work but that will also give you a good grounding when it comes to the information you need to know about how to be a good nurse. These qualifications are open to everyone, from those just leaving high school to those who have decided to change careers later on in life. The key, no matter who you are or why you want to be a nurse, is to keep learning. If you want to be a great nurse, you must always be looking for new ways to expand your knowledge.

This is something that is entirely possible to do thanks to online courses. These courses mean that you don’t have to sacrifice your job just to study to become better at that job (which doesn’t make any sense anyway); you can keep working and still gain more knowledge through additional nursing courses. You can even advance your career by taking the next steps, and this is something that can be done by everyone; there are even online accelerated BSN programs for non nurses, for example.

These courses, as well as experience in your job as a nurse, will also help you to improve your ‘soft skills’, which include:

    • Communication skills
    • Assessment of patients
    • Understanding complex instructions
    • Compassion and empathy
    • Trustworthiness

These skills are just as important as the more technical knowledge a nurse needs to know, so enhancing them where possible is the best thing you can do if you want to become a great nurse.

    Have More Compassion

We’ve briefly mentioned compassion above, but it’s a truly important nursing trait, and it’s something that the best nurses have in abundance, which is why it’s crucial that you work on your compassion levels and enhance them if need be.

A good nurse will treat someone’s physical problems, and they will be kind and caring while they go about it. A great nurse will do the same, but their kindness and caring levels will be exceptional, ensuring that no patient is ever left feeling unhappy, scared, confused, or alone. These are the great nurses who people are going to remember long after their wounds have healed and their sickness has been cured, and these are the nurses everyone should aim to be like.

Compassion can, in part, be learned, although it’s not an easy thing to do. If you are already compassionate, you will have a great advantage over a great many other people, and you can certainly turn your nursing career into a great one.

    Give Respect

Nurses deserve a lot of respect; that’s very clear; they work hard, they do so much, and they save lives in the process. Yet, a great nurse will also give respect. They will give respect to their patients and to their colleagues and other staff members around the hospital, clinic, or other medical workplaces they are in. Not everyone can do this; little annoyances and petty squabbles can get in the way of being able to respect everyone around you, and this is the difference between a mediocre or even a good nurse and a great one.

When everyone is respectful, the working environment is a much more productive and happy one, and the workplace itself is more comfortable. This means everyone can concentrate on their work more easily, and patients are helped in the best way possible. When a patient is respected, they will be much more forthcoming about their symptoms and how they feel because they know they won’t be judged in any way, which makes diagnosing them much easier. When colleagues are respected, they will be much more likely to help you when you need it, meaning that the patient, once again, gets the best nursing care possible.

You don’t have to like those you respect; these are two different things, and it’s important to understand the distinction between the two.

    Staying Calm Under Pressure

Nurses must, no matter what, stay calm under pressure. This is one of the most important skills a nurse can have, and it will make the entire job a much easier one since you will always know just what to do and how to handle any situation that you come across. You will also be seen as an integral member of the team because you are always able to take charge of anything that’s happening and show your knowledge and skills at their best. These are the treats of a great nurse.

Some people are naturally calm, and they are able not to panic when something goes wrong or when there is a lot happening around them. Others will need to learn this skill, and it something that comes with plenty of experience. If you fall into the latter category, you’ll be able to watch other, more experienced nurses as they go about their duties and see how they react to difficult situations; what do they say and do that helps to keep them calm and ensures others are able to listen to them and follow their lead? Whatever it is, these are skills that a great nurse should develop. Having confidence in your nursing knowledge and abilities will help immensely in this regard.

SBA’s guide to European football leagues and how to make your one bet count

If you’re a fan of a European club, or enjoy following the leagues, you will know that the biggest sides are struggling this season. SBA have looked at the situation in the biggest leagues to help you pick a winner and make your one bet count.

    Will champions retain their titles?

Liverpool are famous for their incredible comebacks – we all remember their win against Barcelona in 2019! However, on this occasion it seems unlikely that they will win the Premier League. Their 68-game unbeaten run at Anfield is over and Manchester City are the favourites to lift the trophy.

Could we be witnessing the end of Barcelona and Real Madrid’s dominance in Spain? Last season saw Los Blancos win La Liga for this first time in three years; this time around, Atletico are top of the table. Lionel Messi and his old friend Luis Suarez are fighting for the Pichichi trophy – who do you think will win?

Meanwhile, this might finally be the year that Juventus’ run as the Serie A champions comes to a close. The Old Lady of Turin have lifted the title in nine consecutive seasons but Milan and Inter finally look equipped to return to the summit of Italian football. At 36, Cristiano Ronaldo is still finding the back of the net but Romelu Lukaku or Zlatan Ibrahimovic could also finish as top scorer.

PSG are chasing a record-equalling tenth league title, yet they are not finding it easy under Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine started his reign with victory in the Trophée des Champions, his first cup as a manager, but it is not going so well in Ligue 1. Lille and Lyon are not giving up the fight and both sides have a good chance of finishing above the Parisians.

Who will win the Champions League and Europa League?

Bayern Munich will probably retain the Bundesliga title, but can they win the Champions League again too? They have been drawn against Lazio in the round of 16 and, considering how easily they navigated the group stage, Hansi Flick’s side will be confident of reaching the quarter finals. The 2019/20 runners-up, PSG, face Barcelona in an exciting tie that will see Neymar reunited with his old club. Elsewhere, Liverpool and Chelsea face stern tests against RB Leipzig and Atletico respectively.

Will an English side win the Europa League? Jose Mourinho, who has won the tournament with both Manchester United and Porto, could become a champion again at Tottenham. The Red Devils are also back in the tournament and will expect to reach the latter stages, while Arsenal are hoping that glory here will take them back to the Champions League.

Premier Bet (PM Bet) review the top football leagues in Europe

We are inside the second half of the 2020/21 season in Europe’s biggest leagues, and so far the reigning champions are struggling to keep hold of their silverware. Premier Bet (PM Bet) have given us their view of the state of play.

It’s a difficult season for Europe’s biggest clubs

It was too easy for Liverpool to win the Premier League in 2019/20; this year, things are very different. Their 4-1 defeat to Manchester City left them ten points behind the leaders, and they are the first reigning champions since 1956 to lose three home games in a row. City are now the favourites to win the league this season.

Could this be the end of Barcelona and Real Madrid’s dominance in La Liga? Atletico are first in the standings, even though they have played fewer games than their rivals. If they can stay at the top, it will be only the second occasion since 2004 in which neither Barcelona nor Real have been champions.

Juventus have won the Serie A in each of the last nine seasons but they might not be able to reach ten. Milan and Inter have been above Andrea Pirlo’s side for most of the season and, though Cristiano Ronaldo is still scoring goals, so are Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

In Ligue 1, PSG are chasing a record-equalling tenth league title. However, although Mauricio Pochettino has already won the Trophée des Champions in his first two months as manager, his side are not dominating the league as they usually do. Lille and Lyon are not giving up the fight and both sides have a good chance of finishing above the Parisians.

The Champions League and Europa League are returning

Bayern, though remain on course to win the Bundesliga yet again. They are also in action in the Champions League, another trophy they lifted last summer. The 2019/20 runners-up, PSG, face Barcelona in an exciting tie that will see Neymar reunited with his old club. Meanwhile, English sides Liverpool and Chelsea face stern tests against RB Leipzig and Atletico respectively.

In the Europa League, Arsenal will seek to put their poor league form behind them while Manchester United, who reached the semi-finals last year, are also involved. Jose Mourinho, who has won the tournament with both United and Porto, is seeking to make Tottenham the new champions.

  • Premier Bet’s guide to European league and making a soccer bet

Premier Bet’s guide to European league and making a soccer bet

This is one of the most exciting football seasons in recent memory! Premier Bet have given us their overview of the situation in Europe’s biggest leagues to help you win your soccer bet!

    The biggest teams struggle

Although Liverpool are famous for their incredible comebacks, it seems unlikely that they will win the Premier League in back-to-back seasons. Having not lost in the league at Anfield in almost four years, they have now become the first reigning champions to lose three consecutive home games since 1956. Manchester City are the favourites to lift the trophy, though neighbours United and 2015/16 winners Leicester are looking strong.

Could we be witnessing the end of Barcelona and Real Madrid’s dominance in Spain? Atletico are top of the table despite having played fewer games than their rivals. Should they stay there, it will be only the second time since 2004 in which neither Barcelona nor Real have been crowned champions.

Meanwhile, this might finally be the year that Juventus’ run as the Serie A champions comes to a close. The Old Lady of Turin have lifted the title in nine consecutive seasons and, though they have faced challenges in that period, this time there are more teams involved. Milan and Inter finally look equipped to return to the summit of Italian football. At 36, Cristiano Ronaldo is still finding the back of the net but two other former Manchester United forwards, Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic, could also finish as top scorer.

PSG are chasing a record-equalling tenth league title, yet they are not finding it easy under Mauricio Pochettino. The Argentine started his reign with victory in the Trophée des Champions, his first cup as a manager, but it is not going so well in Ligue 1. European football returns

Bayern are on course to retain the Bundesliga title, but can they win the Champions League again too? They have been drawn against Lazio in the round of 16 and, considering how easily they navigated the group stage, Hansi Flick’s side will be confident of reaching the quarter finals. Elsewhere, Liverpool and Chelsea face stern tests against RB Leipzig and Atletico respectively.

In the Europa League, Thomas Partey’s Arsenal will seek to put their poor league form behind them. Can they finally win the elusive trophy? Manchester United, who reached the semi-finals last year, are also involved and Jose Mourinho, who won the tournament with the Red Devils in 2017, is seeking to make Tottenham champions.

Premier Bet review the world’s biggest football league with their AngoFoot service

There are three months to go in the regular football season in Europe, and the biggest teams could end up without a trophy! Premier Bet’s AngoFoot service looks at current situation, as well as ahead to the end of the season.

    League champions are struggling

Liverpool are well-known for finding victories when it seems all hope is lost, as they did just two seasons ago against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-finals. This time, though, it is hard to imagine them lifting the Premier League trophy again in May. They are the first reigning champions to lose three home league games in a row since 1956. Jurgen Klopp has all but conceded defeat, although this could just be mind games! However, Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City are the favourites to take back the title after their success in 2017/18 and 2018/19.

Could we be witnessing the end of Barcelona and Real Madrid’s dominance in La Liga? Atletico have lead the way and have benefitted from Barcelona’s decision to sell Luis Suarez – he could finish the season with the Pichichi Trophy for the most goals.

Juventus failed to sign the Uruguayan in the summer, and now their nine-year run as champions of the Serie A might be about to end. Napoli and Roma have come close in recent years, but this time both Milan and Inter finally look like they can finish above the Old Lady of Turin. It isn’t just here where Juventus’ players might struggle for silverware. Cristiano Ronaldo is eyeing the top scorer award but faces a fight from Romelu Lukaku and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

In France, PSG are chasing a record-equalling tenth league title but are not finding it as easy as they have in recent seasons. New manager Mauricio Pochettino has already won the Trophée des Champions, but his team are competing with Lille and Lyon at the top of Ligue 1. Both sides were champions prior to the Parisians’ dominance, and now they have the opportunity to take back the title. Will they seize it?

    European tournaments return

Bayern Munich may be on course to retain the Bundesliga title, but can they win the Champions League again too? Last season’s winners have been drawn against Lazio while PSG, beaten finalists, face Barcelona – can Neymar overcome his former club?

Either a Spanish or English side has won the Europa League in each of the last nine seasons. Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham are among the favourites to do it this time. Jose Mourinho lifted the trophy with the Red Devils four years ago – can he bring the silverware to Spurs?

  • Alex Iwobi: The Nigerian is Repaying Ancelotti’s Faith

Alex Iwobi: The Nigerian is Repaying Ancelotti’s Faith

When Everton signed Alex Iwobi from Arsenal for around £35 million back in August 2019, a few eyebrows were raised throughout the football world. Although the Nigerian had shown promise at the Emirates, he hadn’t proved that he was worth the Toffees making him one of their most expensive purchases in the club’s history. However, where Marco Silva appeared to fail, Carlo Ancelotti is succeeding in getting the best out of Iwobi. So, here’s how the 24-year-old is repaying his manager’s faith.

Pressure from Everton Supporters and His Home County

Initially, Everton had a £30 million offer rejected by Arsenal for Iwobi, although that did not deter them in their quest to sign the attacker. After securing his signature, Silva declared that the Nigerian had been a primary target because of his direct running and quick feet. On paper, the transfer appeared to be sensible one for the Merseyside club, who watched the 24-year-old score three times and chip in with ten assists across 35 matches for the Gunners in the 2019-20 Premier League campaign.

Prior to Victor Osimhen’s move from Lille to Napoli the following summer, Iwobi’s switch to Goodison Park saw him become the most expensive Nigerian of all time. With that, he took on pressure from his home country, as well as the Everton faithful. His transfer will have been closely followed back home and the variety of bookmakers available, as detailed on SBO.net, mean that fans can back the Toffees if they are expecting him to be successful there. Because platforms like 22bet and Betwinner host markets related to the English top-flight division, prospective bettors can explore an array of in-game and outright opportunities. Moreover, as the Nigerian gambling industry has a football-orientated focus, European competitions are also popular among consumers. Should Everton qualify for either the Champions League or Europa League come the end of the 2020-21 season, Iwobi may find himself under pressure.

There’s More to Come from Him

In 25 Premier League appearances for the Toffees during the 2019-20 season, Iwobi scored just one goal, which came in a 3-2 win over Wolves. After Silva departed the club and the three-time Champions League-winning manager arrived, the Nigerian’s form gradually improved. Perhaps one of the reasons for this relates to familiarity. In an interview with talkSPORT, he stated that playing for Ancelotti is very similar to his time at Arsenal under Arsene Wenger.

Due to injuries, Iwobi received further first-team opportunities in 2020-21, and he’s thus far made them pay. According to the Liverpool Echo, he ranked second – behind James Rodriguez – out the Everton squad regarding shot-creating actions per 90 minutes. Impressively, he’s done so having played in various positions, including as a wing-back.

Having been switched to the left flank, Ancelotti has praised the Nigerian’s recent link-up play with Lucas Digne, which proved instrumental in their 2-1 win at Molineux on January 12th, 2020. The fixture saw the 24-year-old score his first goal of the season, and, based on current form, it could be the first of many.

Slowly but Surely, Iwobi is Proving his Worth

Over the years, Iwobi has promised to reach the top of the sport both at club and international level. Having learned from Wenger during his breakthrough phase, Ancelotti is now the perfect coach to harness his existing skillset and mould him into a consistent top-level player. The onus is now on the 24-year-old to step up to the plate, deliver, and fire Everton into a European spot.
