    Cross River schoolgirl caught with gun confesses to cult membership

    A 17-year old female student of Community Secondary School, Ikot Ewa in Akpabuyo Local Government Area of Cross River State who went to school with a gun has confessed to being member of a cult group named Sky Queens Confraternity.

    The student on February 11 took a gun to school after her teacher asked her to cut her tainted hair.

    She was paraded on Friday at the police headquarters in Calabar with her boyfriend. Eleven other suspects were paraded.

    Cross River police commissioner Sikiru Akande said the police discovered from investigation that the girl was taking the locally made double barrel pistol to a blacksmith.

    Mr Akande also said that investigation was ongoing to unravel the mystery around the ownership of the gun, adding that a suspect Okon Effiong has been arrested and more details would be made known soon.

    The schoolgirl claimed to be taking the pistol to a blacksmith before it was confiscated by the school principal.

    “I am a member of Sky Queen Confraternity, I am just an ordinary member, I don’t hold any position in the group, I have known the owner of the gun who is my man-friend since last year, he sleeps with me and supports me with little things, but he is not the one paying my school fees,” she said.

    “My mother knows about him because he visits me at our house and sometimes he sleeps over at my place because I have my own room then in the morning he goes back to his own house.”

    Her boyfriend Mr Effiong said he has been intimate with her since August 2020.

    “I am a married man with six children, I did not give her the gun, she took it herself where I kept it under the bed,” he said.

    “I started sleeping with her August last year, her mother knows me, I have been doing small something (sic) on her head. They know she is my wife.”

You can tell that they are not going anywhere anytime soon. They have become national treasures and a part of the history of the country.

    “2Baba has made music with some of the greats of the nineties and he continues to make music with some of the greats of today. One can’t beat that unless one knows how to evolve. I think people like that are undoubtedly the kings and custodians of the Nigerian music space. Trends come and go but the real kings in the music industry do not make noise, yet they never run out of shows.

    “I like to think of myself as an observer because I have been in the music industry for a long time. Observing and evolving, are the ways to make oneself a custodian of the history of the music industry. For me, the most important thing is to continue to be relevant.

    The industry is such that everyone has their day. There are some people who may not shine as brightly as other people but their candles never dim and it is a beautiful place to be.     Tajudeen Monsuru, a 30-year-old ritual killer suspects, has confessed on how he killed his girlfriend and sold her head to an alfa.

    According to him, he sold the head of his girlfriend for N20,000 and used the money on drinks with friends.

    He also confessed to killing another victim aside his girlfriend, and also sold his victim’s head to an alfa.

    Monsuru confessed that he killed his girlfriend after he dated her for 4 months. He narrated that he invited her over for the night to spend some time with her after which he seized her breath and killed her.

    He said the police arrested him after he decided to sell her phone to a man in his area. After some time, her phone was traced by the police and the man was arrested.

    The man then brought the police to his house.

    After faking her own kidnap in Olude, Oke-Fomo area, Ilorin, Kwara State, last Saturday, 24-year-old lady teacher, Medinat Ibrahim, has revealed why she committed the act.

    The teacher said she committed the crime to raise money to settle debt which accrued from the monthly contribution in her place of work.

    Medinat, who was paraded alongside two other suspects – Amudalat Wahab (30) and Hammed Lekan (28) – by the Kwara State Police Command on Wednesday, said she decided to commit the offence as a result of frustration and stoppage of her salary by her employer following the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic.

    Medinat, who said that she is from a polygamous home, revealed that she was maltreated by her stepmother who also caused friction between her and her father, adding that she decided to fake her own kidnap to get money to offset debts she incurred during COVID-19 lockdown.

    She said her business had collapsed, adding that the private school, where she taught as a teacher, had stopped paying her salary since COVID-19 broke out.

    She said, “I teach in a private school where I was paid N15,000. We organised monthly contribution which I collected and invested in a business, but when COVID-19 broke out, our salary was stopped, I could no longer continue with the contribution.

    “Those who were in the group continued to mount pressure on me to pay up my own contribution and there is nowhere that I could get the money. So I decided to go and hide in my sister’s place and I told someone to call my father on phone that I was kidnapped and demanded a ransom of N250,000 which was paid to my friend’s account.

    The state Commissioner of Police, Muhammed Bagega, said Medinat conspired with her elder sister, Amudalat Wahab, and one Hammed Lekan to arrange her kidnap.

    The CP said a bank account, belonging to one Hammed Lekan, was used to cash the N250,000.

    Text of the police commissioner’s speech read by the state Police Public Relations Ajayi Okasanmi, added, “In line with the Commissioner of Police stand, that it not going to be business as usual, criminal are warned to pack their loads and relocate from Kwara State as the command will stop at nothing to deal with any criminal arrested no matter how highly or lowly placed.

    An HIV positive Kenyan woman, Jackline Njoki Mwangi has disclosed why she knowingly infected men with HIV.

    Mwangi, also known as Kiki wa Ng’endo, was first diagnosed with HIV as a teenager after sleeping with men for money to take care of herself and her nephew. This was after her mother left her and her sister in the care of their aunt to go and work in the United States.

    The 36-year-old, who made the startling revelation on Thursday September 17, in an interview with Kenya’s online news portal, TUKO, justified her action saying she picked the disease from an infected person who also did not care to warn her.

    Mwangi said it was her sexual partners’ responsibilities to protect themselves and not hers.

    “At the end of the day, I can not be your keeper. You know you do not know me. I am not related to you yet you want to have sex with me, why don’t you wear a condom or take a test with me if I am comfortable and if I am not, ask me to wear a condon?” she posed.

    Kiki further revealed she decided to go public with her status because she wanted men to stop approaching her for sex after she developed complications in her private parts.

    According to her, the condition has made her lose interest in sex after 18 years of selling her body to sexually hungry men for money.

    She also wanted to warn men against sleeping with every woman they come across, create awareness and ask her family to stop insulting her every other time.

    She blamed her woes on her mother who she claimed despised and mistreated her after she left the country to work in the US.

    According to Kiki, her mother would send money to their aunt but she never took care of them and when their mother learned of her new escapades, she mistreated her till date.

    She had to drop out of high school and when her uncle tried talking her into going back to school, that was when she tested positive for HIV.

    “It was heartbreaking, I stayed without taking medication but was just pushing on with life. At some point I went upcountry and came back to Nairobi and that was when I attempted suicide,” she said.

    Kiki now decries being abandoned by both her family and friends who know about her status. The stigmatisation she faced has left her depressed and emotionally drained.

    A 60-year-old woman, Iyabo Dansu has been hacked to death by her nephew over alleged witchcraft.

    Dansu Asogba, a 23-year-old indigene of Ogun State who was arrested by the police for allegedly killing his aunt, confessed to the crime.

    In a statement on Saturday, the Ogun State Police Spokesperson, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect was arrested following a report by two children of the victim at the Ipokia Divisional Police Headquarters.

    According to Oyeyemi, the children had reported that they were informed on August 22 that their mother, who was not suffering from any illness had died.

    Oyeyemi hinted that the children of the deceased “stated further that since they were not suspecting any foul play, they decided to bury her without necessarily reporting to the police.

    “But immediately after the burial, they heard information that the suspect, who is a nephew to the deceased was seen in her house on that fateful day, and shortly after he left, the woman was declared dead.”

    This, he said, aroused the suspicion of residents as they threatened to carry out a traditional ritual to expose the killer.

    Hearing the determination of the community to go spiritual about the death of the woman, Asogba reportedly came out to confess being the one responsible for her death.

    The DPO Ipokia Division, SP Adebayo Hakeem, was said to have detailed his men to the scene where the suspect was arrested.

    “On interrogation, he admitted killing the deceased, but claimed that he did so because of his belief that the deceased was responsible for the death of his first child and the subsequent miscarriage suffered by his wife.

    “He confessed further that it was an iron rod he used to hit the woman on the neck which resulted to her death,” Oyeyemi said.

    Meanwhile, the Ogun Commissioner of Police, Edward Ajogun, has ordered that the case be transferred transfer to the homicide section of the State CIID for further investigation.

    Following the death of 19-year-old Black Lives Matter activist Oluwatoyin Salau, more details have emerged about who allegedly killed her and how.

    On June 15, the Tallahassee Police Department confirmed via a press release that the two bodies that had been found on June 13 were identified as Salau and 74-year-old Victoria Sims. Aaron Glee, Jr., 49, was identified as the suspect in the case and had been taken into custody, per the press release.

    Aaron Glee admitted to the gruesome crimes on a number of occasions saying he kept BLM activist Oluwatoyin Salau a prisoner in his home for several days where he repeatedly sexually assaulted her before murdering her.

    Following Salau’s killing, he said he kidnapped and murdered Victoria Sims, who had picked Glee and Salau up at a bus stop and dropped them off at Glee’s home days earlier.

    On June 13, Tallahassee Police Department officers traced Sims’ cellphone to Glee’s house where they found Sims’ body under a bloody sheet in a bedroom and Salau’s body in a pile of leaves in the backyard, according to police reports.

    Authorities in Orlando arrested Glee at a bus stop where he complained of breathing difficulties and was taken to a local hospital.
    “While at the hospital, Glee had made voluntary admissions to officers guarding him that he had murdered two women in Tallahassee,” read the report, per USA Today. “He would also place a telephone call to his mother and make these same admissions.”

    Glee said he met Salau at a bus stop on June 6 where she confided in him about being sexually assaulted earlier in the day, which she allegedly spoke about on Twitter as well, per the news source.
    Video footage shows Glee and Salau speaking at the bus stop for an extended period of time before a car stopped to pick them up.

    “At approximately 7:07 p.m., a white Toyota, the same make and model of the one owned by Sims, arrived in the area of the bus stop,” the police report said. “Glee and (Salau) departed in that Toyota moments later.”
    Glee said he had called Sims to give them a ride as she had helped him before through her volunteer work, providing rides and delivering meals.

    After Glee and Salau arrived at Glee’s home, he told police she showered and he attempted to have sex with her, but she fought him off. “He stated that she physically resisted him, and that she bit him upon his right forearm during the struggle,” read the police report.

    According to reports, Glee overpowered Salau and kept her tied up for days while he repeatedly raped her.
    “Glee stated that he was aware that he would be arrested and likely sentenced to prison if he allowed (Salau) to leave the residence,” the police report stated. “Glee indicated that he determined that his only course of action was to end her life.”

    Glee said he then tied Salau with rope to stop her from breathing. “Glee explained how over the course of several hours he would re-enter the bedroom multiple times to see if [Salau] was still alive,” the report read. “Ultimately, he entered into the bedroom and determined [she] was deceased.”

    Afterwards, Glee said he kidnapped Sims, stole her car and killed her. Sims’ car was found stuck in mud outside Glee’s home. Glee has been charged with two counts of murder and kidnapping and one count of sexual assault.

I did something I never wanted to do on this Corona period. I dont have any money to cook anything at home and no one to talk to, no water for my children to drink. We started drinking borehole water.

    I kept putting my account number on madam Cynthia give away post but I wasn’t lucky at all. Our land lord have been making advances at me for long and I ignored him. My parents look up to me for help and I didnt even give them anything at all. Me and my family stayed two days without anything and I left to ask my landlord for money to see if he can help me. All my neighbors I went to for help, nobody gave me anything. I lied to my husband let me go and see my brothers friend to know if she can help us. My landlord wife and kids stay abroad.

    He lives two houses away from us. When I got to his place, he brought up the topic again and I told him that I cant do it, he promised to give me 20k free and some provisions. I know what I did is wrong and my conscience is killing me badly. I cant watch my three children cry anymore and I gave in and he refused he wont use protection. I have been asking God to forgive me. If they paid us in school where I teach before discharging us I wont have fallen into such. I am a shadow of myself now ma.

    Three days ago, our compound people had meeting with him. Nepa people came to cut our light because of old bill we didnt settle. If you see the way he humiliated my husband because he gave his own suggestions, because he knows our situation I covered my face in shame. I wish I never did what I did. My husband is not on social media. Please help me post for advise.”
