The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has deployed 1,800 Corps members to Gombe State for the Orientation course for the 2021 Batch ‘C’ Stream II.
This is stated in a statement issued on Monday by Ms Margaret Dakama, the scheme’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), in Gombe.
According to Dakama, who cited the Gombe state coordinator, Mrs Ada Imoni, the orientation for prospective Corps members is set to take place from November 24 to December 14, 2021.
Imoni stated that registration would take place between November 24 and November 28, and that all prospective Corps members should report to the camp for registration.
She stated that the Corps members were expected to report to the NYSC Temporary Orientation camp in Amada, Gombe State, for orientation.
Before, during, and after the orientation exercise, the state coordinator urged Corps members to strictly follow all COVID-19 protocols.
“In accordance with NYSC existing guidelines on COVID-19 safety protocols, all Prospective Corps Members and camp officials must take the COVID-19 test before being admitted to the camp.”
Imoni stated that the Scheme was working with state health officials and the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to carry out the COVID-19 testing.
She advised campers to get the COVID-19 vaccine.
“It’s safe and would help slow the spread of the virus,” Imoni said.
