A Central Area Court in Kasuwan Nama, Jos, sentenced a 28-year-old cleaner, Moses Azenbe, to two years in a correctional facility on Tuesday for stealing an armour cable.
After pleading guilty, the convict was sentenced by a panel of two Magistrates, Ghazali Adam and Hyacinth Dolnaan.
The panel, on the other hand, gave him the option of paying a N15, 000 fine.
The panel stated that the decision would serve as a deterrent to those who would commit such a criminal act.
Earlier, the Prosecutor, Ibrahim Gokwat, told the court that Nwosu Uwaezuoke reported the case to the Laranto Police Station on November 2nd.
According to Gokwat, the armour cable was recovered from the convict during the police investigation.
According to the prosecutor, the offense was punishable under Section 272 of the Plateau Penal Code Law.
