The Nigerian Correctional Service has appointed Musa Ahmed, as the new controller of its command in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The FCT command Public Relations Officer, Chukwuedo Humphrey said this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
The statement disclosed that Ahmed took over from Dr Abdul-Rahman Maiyaki who had been redeployed to head the works section of the service at the national headquarters, Abuja.
It stated that in his maiden address, the new controller urged personnel of the command to always behave well and to shun acts that could be detrimental to their job as correctional officers.
Officers were also advised to be security conscious, saying that the security challenges facing the country required absolute vigilance and dedication to work.
“Yuletide season is characterised by high level social vices and security challenges, hence the need to always be at alert. The integrity of our custodial centres must be jealously guided against any form of breaches,’’ a part of the statement reads
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the Jigawa State born controller had served in many formations, including as controller of the command in Kogi and zonal headquarters, Kaduna.
