Spotify, a music streaming service, has launched Ad Studio, a self-serve advertising platform, in Jamaica, Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
More artists from all over the world now have access to the innovative advertising medium.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Christopher Li, Director of Digital Planning and Products at Live Nation and Spotify Ad Studio, revealed this.
Ad Studio, according to Li, is a tool on the Spotify platform that allows musicians, brands, and businesses to easily run audio and video advertisements.
He claims that advertisers can create a campaign in minutes and that the platform gives them the flexibility and control they need to set up and manage campaigns in real time
“Have you ever made an audio ad? Spotify makes it simple; you can create a custom audio ad for free in Ad Studio in as little as 24 hours,” he explained.
Li stated that Spotify has already launched Ad Studio in other markets, including America and Europe, and that he is excited about the impact this will have in emerging markets such as Sub-Saharan Africa, where audio streaming is on the rise.
He stated that advertisers must spend a minimum of N100,000 to advertise using this tool.
According to him, Ad Studio offers free audio creation tools to advertisers, such as background music mixing, voiceover talent, audience targeting, and real-time reporting.
“Reaching audiences with Spotify Ad Studio is simple and efficient; you can target listeners based on genre preferences, interests, and context.”
“It only takes a few minutes for us to create a campaign, and the free voiceover service saves us a lot of time,” he said.
Spotify, the world leader in audio streaming, provides music and podcasts to nearly 365 million users across 184 markets and hundreds of devices.
This is where the young are — and where the young go, marketers follow. 71% of Spotify free listeners are under 35, and the median age of podcast listeners is 27.
Over 100 million Nigerians use the internet on a regular basis. Music apps are used by 57.9% of this group, up from 54% last year.
The median age in this market is 18, indicating that Gen-Z is the majority of smartphone users.
The Gen-Z market is growing in Ghana and Kenya, and many young people are streaming audio.
The introduction of Ad Studio is yet another example of Spotify’s global leadership in audio innovation, providing advertisers with the opportunity to grow their audiences in these emerging markets.
