Pastor Adewale Giwa, an Ondo State-based cleric, has urged the Federal Government to focus more on resolving the country’s problems rather than focusing on the 2023 general election.
Senior Pastor Giwa of the Awaiting the Second Coming of Christ Ministry (ATSCM), Akure, stated this in an interview with newsmen on the sidelines of the church’s 20th Anniversary and Thanksgiving Service on Sunday.
Giwa also stated that if the government removes the fuel subsidy as planned, Nigerians will face even more hardship.
The clergyman urged the Federal Government to run an all-inclusive government in which all parts of the country would be carried along and benefited.
“The election in 2023 is not our concern right now.” They should put the election aside for the time being and focus on pressing issues that affect us.
“They should deal with insecurity, hunger, and kidnapping.” Only God knows what will happen if they ignore all of these issues and concentrate solely on the election.
“Even without the removal of the fuel subsidy, people are still struggling to make ends meet.” As a result, the elimination of subsidies is nonsense.
“What Nigeria requires right now is a return to regional government.” Anything else is a failure.
“In Genesis, Abraham and Lot faced a similar problem: 13. When there was a disagreement between the two of them, Abraham had to summon Lot to settle the matter amicably, saying, “When you go to the south, I will go to the east,” and “When you go to the west, I will go to the north.”
“Lot had no choice but to agree with him, and they split up.” Who said separation isn’t mentioned in the Bible? “Whoever says that is deceiving himself,” he said.
The cleric explained that if money budgeted for security is used wisely by the executive, kidnapping and other criminal activities in the country would be stopped.
Speaking at the anniversary, Giwa recalled how, as the founder of his church, he had faced many challenges over the last 20 years, but that God’s grace had been his support.
