On Sunday, President Muhammadu Buhari, Governors, Captains of Industry, and other dignitaries attended Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu’s son’s wedding in Umuahia, Abia State.
On Sunday, Ikpeazu’s son, Jachimike, married his heartthrob, Chidinma Onwuenyi.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the ceremony was held at the International Conference Center in Umuahia by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Buhari, who was represented by Dr. Uche Ogah, Minister of State for Mines and Steel, advised the couple to make God the foundation of their marriage by praying together.
He encouraged the couple to uphold family values in their efforts to build a strong home and be a blessing to their generation.
Buhari prayed to God that the new union would be blissful and a huge success, serving as a model for young people to follow.
Mrs. Aisha Buhari, Nigeria’s First Lady, also stated that the event served as a reminder that marriage is still a union that should be celebrated with love.
Mrs. Buhari, who was represented by Mrs. Ogonnia Umahi, the wife of the Governor of Ebonyi, prayed to God to bless the couple with love and understanding.
Gov. Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom, the event’s chairman, stated that the event was a clear indication that the couple is well-liked.
According to Udom, the union will bear fruit that will be a blessing to the couple and their family.
Earlier, Ikpeazu described the occasion as a special occasion because it allowed him to witness his son’s transition into a new phase of life.
The governor thanked the guests who attended the wedding, saying that their presence added color to the event.
He went on to say that the outpouring of love from them was overwhelming.
He stated that their display of affection would motivate the couple to make concerted efforts to make their marriage a success.
Gov. Dave Umahi of Ebonyi, Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi, Gov. Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, Gov. Nyesom Wike of Rivers, and Gov. Douye Diri of Bayelsa were among those who attended the wedding.
Others included Gov. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Gov. Godwin Obaseki of Edo, Sen. Theodore Orji (PDP-Abia Central), former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim, and Mr Peter Obi, former Governor of Anambra.
