According to Mr Marcel Ifejiofor, Anambra Commissioner for Works, all strategic roads in Anambra will be built quickly to expedite development.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Awka on Monday that the state’s governorship election on Nov. 6 slowed road construction, but that work had since resumed.
Ifejiofor stated that the ministry would prioritize roads that would benefit the economic and social development of the hinterlands.
“We are ready to take on all strategic roads in Anambra state because our 2022 budget includes N13 billion for road construction and other infrastructural projects.”
“We are committed to having the best road network in the country and are working very hard to achieve that goal.” “I urge everyone in the state to believe in our promises,” he said.
Ifejiofor also told NAN that the government would pay special attention to erosion-prone areas that had hampered development progress.
